School personnel changes

The Morgan County School Board voted to approve the following personnel actions at their recent meetings:

John Gue, Director of Transportation, resigned, effective at the end of June 27.

Christie Butts and Brett Shippey were hired as fourth grade teachers for Warm Springs Intermediate School.
Kelsea Schwartz was approved as a fifth grade teacher for Warm Springs Intermediate School.

Gena Giumarro was assigned as teacher for students with learning disabilities, behavioral disorders and mental impairments at Pleasant View Elementary.

Dusty McClintock was rehired as a teacher at Berkeley Springs High School and granted continuing contract status for this school year.

Joshua Wilson resigned as Paw Paw High School math teacher, effective July 19.

Jenna Epstein, Pleasant View Elementary and Greenwood Elementary counselor, was transferred to a position as counselor/flex teacher at Warm Springs Intermediate School.

Sally McCumbee was assigned as Warm Springs Middle School remedial specialist.

Leslie Ganoe was employed as a substitute nurse.

Sammi Johnson and Betsy Gambino were rehired as substitute nurses for the 2012-2013 school year.

Hannah Fugate was hired as an unpaid social work intern for the summer programs, effective June 4 through the end of August 3.

Service
The reduction in force action for the following positions was rescinded and these employees were reassigned for the coming school year:

Paw Paw Schools special education aide Debra Michael was reassigned to Paw Paw Schools as a special education aide.
Itinerant special education aides Bernadette Shaw and Kelley Kyne, with a home base at Widmyer Elementary, were reassigned as itinerant special education aides with a home base at the school.

Coaches
Rocky Riffle was approved as Berkeley Springs High School head girls’ soccer coach.

David Aberegg was hired as head cross country coach for Berkeley Springs High School.

James “Mike” Burks and Mark Cowles were chosen as Berkeley Springs High School assistant football coaches.

Tina Stotler was assigned as head cheer coach for Berkeley Springs High School for the fall and winter cheerleading season.

Joyce Jamison and Sarabeth Swope were selected as assistant cheer coaches for Berkeley Springs High School for the fall and winter cheerleading season.

Other
Mark Mills was approved as an unpaid gym monitor at Berkeley Springs High School effective from July 3, 2012 through June 30, 2013, as needed.

Additional positions
Two full-time special education aide positions were approved, one for Warm Springs Middle School and one for Warm Springs Intermediate School.

An additional fulltime assistant cross country coach position for Warm Springs Middle School was also approved.

Unless otherwise noted, the personnel changes are effective for the 2012-2013 school year.

Authorization
The school board also authorized Superintendent David Banks to accept resignations, post positions and hire employees pending board approval at the next regularly scheduled meeting, effective from July 3 through the end of August 14.
