Lions volunteer at Greenbrier Classic
Lions Carl “Sonny” Miller, Gary Van Horn, Jim Price and Bill Michael, members of the Berkeley Springs Lions Club volunteered at the Greenbrier Classic Golf Tournament at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, last week.
They were among Lions from across West Virginia that volunteered to work in concession stands during the tournament.
As a result of the volunteer hours worked by Lions, the West Virginia Lions Sight Conservation Foundation will receive an estimated $8,000.
The mission of the West Virginia Lions Sight Conservation Foundation is to provide sight and hearing conservation services to West Virginia residents based upon financial need.
Services provided by the Foundation include vision screening of adults and children, eye surgery, special vision equipment, low vision services, artificial eyes and funds vision research at the WVU Eye Institute.
In addition, the foundation assists with hearing tests and the purchase of hearing aids.
Applications for vision and hearing services are available at the Morgan County Health Department located in the old grade school at 404 South Green Street, Berkeley Springs.
