Berkeley Springs Firemen’s Carnival July 3 through July 7

The Berkeley Springs Firemen’s Carnival will be held Tuesday, July 3 through Saturday, July 7.

Besides the carnival being held on the week of July 4 the firemen are working on some other new surprises and attractions.

There will be food and bingo, one price admission to amusement rides with family nights to be offered every night.

One of special nights will include a musical performance on Wednesday, July 4 by the Parrotbeach Band. Parrotbeach is a Jimmy Buffett tribute band doing the best of Jimmy Buffett and Island music.

Also on Wednesday, July 4 the fireman will hold their annual baby contest. Registration for the baby contest starts around 6 p.m.

Tuesday night the Whistle Pig Jamboree will open the carnival with their country concert. The Incredible Driftin’ Whistle Pigs will return to carnival to perform your granddaddy’s style of country music.

On Thursday West Virginia’s own American Idol Contestant Christian Lopez and the boys of Joe Taxi. This young trio performs modern and original rock alternative music.

Karaoke night will once again provide the entertainment on Friday. The first 25 singers to register at the stage will compete in one of the biggest and best Karaoke contests in the region. Hosted by Pat McCoy, contestants will compete for a demo CD from BlackCat Studios in Berkeley Springs and other prizes. Registration around 6:15 p.m.

Also performing Friday will be Kristin Palmer and her band “Holler.”

And on Saturday, July 7 the carnival will take a new musical direction and offer a night of blues. The Billy Thompson band will perform their show that has received great reviews from the audience.

Take a lawn chair and plan to catch all the free entertainment throughout the week while supporting the volunteer firemen.

The carnival will get started around 6 to after 10 p.m. nightly.
