Magistrate dismisses charge
A case charging a Great Cacapon man with filing a false report was dismissed by Special Magistrate Donald Sharp on Monday, June 11.
Keith W. DeBlasio of Great Cacapon had been charged with filing a false report with the Secretary of State’s office about his role with the Cold Spring Forest Home Owner’s Association.
While a misdemeanor offense, Prosecutor Debra McLaughlin presented the case to the Morgan County Grand Jury which handed down an indictment in January, 2011.
Since then, a special prosecutor and a special magistrate were appointed. DeBlasio represented himself.
At a pretrial hearing on Monday, Magistrate Sharp dismissed the case at DeBlasio’s request after Special Prosecutor Ralph
Lorenzetti of the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office failed to appear.
