Woman raped in Hancock

A woman reported being raped along Canal Street in Hancock on Monday night, May 28, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told police that she was attacked while she was walking her dog between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.

The victim, whose name and age are being withheld by police, did not recognize her attacker but described him as a white male in his early twenties. He was wearing glasses.

Anyone who was in the area of Canal Street and Main Street between 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on May 28 and may have witnessed anything suspicious, should call Detective Sgt. Greg Alton at 240-313-2185.
