Building permit for new medical practice approved
The Morgan County Planning Commission unanimously approved a Commercial and Industrial Improvement Location (building) Permit for a new family medical practice.
The permit was approved at a special meeting of the commission held Tuesday evening, April 10.
Amanda and Scott Michael plan to open the family practice on July 2. Amanda Michael is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
The 28’ x 70’ building will be located on a .72 acre lot on the east side
of U.S. 522, 550 feet north of the intersection with Winchester Grade Road.
The building will be connected to both public water and sewer.
Scott Michael said access to the building’s parking lot will be off the existing driveway to Calvary Bible Church.
County resident Andy Jurick spoke to the commission in favor of granting the permit. “I think it is an excellent use for this piece of land. It will be a good improvement to the neighborhood,” he said.
Because of this special meeting, the regular April meeting of the Planning Commission is canceled.
The next meeting is scheduled for May 22 at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Morgan County Courthouse.
