A few photography tips

A new column about photography begins in this week's Morgan Messenger and will continue for the next six or eight weeks. The idea is to give a few tips to those interested in taking part in this year's Morgan County Photo Contest and to those who may have gotten a new camera for Christmas.

The columnist is Alison Carter, who has been one of the winners each year that The Messenger has sponsored the photo contest. Usually she has taken the top award for nature or closeup photography. This year, she has agreed to be one of the judges, so she won't be competing.

Carter is calling her column "Strictly Amateur: Take Your Best Shot " since, despite her skills, she is not a professional photographer.
