Wise named Boys Soccer Player of the Year
Berkeley Springs High School junior Zach Wise has put up some eye-popping numbers on the soccer field during his first three years wearing the blue and gold of Berkeley Springs.
This year alone, Wise scored 41 goals, tying the school single-season scoring record held jointly by his brother Josh Wise and Matt Martin. The 41 goals added to the 70 scored in his first two season, also lifted Wise past brother Josh's career goal record and leaves him only seven goals short of the state scoring record of 118.
For his accomplishments, Wise was not only named to the Martinsburg Journal's All-Area first-team, he was also the Journal's choice as the Boys Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Wise was joined on the All-Area first-team by teammates Derrick Cowles and Caleb Murray, while Zane Mokhiber made honorable mention.
