Tires slashed on Wilkes Street

The Berkeley Springs Police Department is investigating a tire slashing incident that took place the night of September 29 – 30 on Wilkes Street in Berkeley Springs.

According to Police Chief Craig Pearrell, six parked vehicles had the tires facing the street side slashed. Twelve tires were slashed in all. The vandalism took place on Wilkes between Congress and Independence streets, he said.

Councilman Kenny Easton, who was a victim, said the sidewalls of the tires were punctured making repairs impossible and causing victims to have to replace the tires.
