County to hire business coach

The Morgan County Economic Development Authority (EDA) has received a grant from the West Virginia Small Business Development office in Charleston to hire a business coach as a contract employee.

The position is funded for two years at $40,000 a year, EDA Executive Director Bill Clark said.

The business coach will provide guidance, analysis and planning to qualified businesses in the Eastern Panhandle area.

“Our goal is to help businesses in our area. We want to work with businesses that are on the cusp of growing,” Clark said.

Businesses in the tri-county area will be eligible for assistance from the business coach. Each county’s EDA will work with local business candidates to qualify them for assistance, Clark said.
