Paw Paw Comprehensive Plan public hearing set

A public hearing on the proposed draft of a new Town of Paw Paw Comprehensive Plan will be held on Monday, December 17. It is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. that evening at Paw Paw Town Hall.

Public comments on the comprehensive plan will be accepted in writing prior to the public hearing. The plan may be viewed at Town Hall during regular business hours. Copies of the plan are also available.

The Town of Paw Paw Comprehensive Plan is entirely new and addresses ways to plan for future development and to supplement services, said town administrative assistant Gina Brock. Lori Kneisly from the Region 9 Planning Council was instrumental in helping them prepare the proposed comprehensive plan, Brock said.

The Town of Paw Paw Comprehensive Plan includes the history and introduction along with chapters on land use, transportation, economic development, housing and neighborhood preservation, community facilities and services, a downtown plan and parking evaluation, parks and recreation implementation, capital improvements and downtown rehabilitation, Brock said.
