Free personal money management seminar
A free one-hour seminar dealing with various aspects of personal money management with be held next Tuesday night, November 27, 7-8 p.m., in the lower-level Fellowship Hall of the Berkeley Springs Seventh-day Adventist Church, according to Pastor Hal Butman.
The church is located at 3606 Valley Road, U.S. 522 South. The public is welcome to attend, and there is no admission charge or pre-registration required, said lay elder Mark Hann, who is in charge of the program.
Thomas A. Close, a Berkeley Springs Certified Public Accountant, will deal with "Biblical Principles of Money Management." His presentation will then be followed by Jan Wilkins, a local budget counselor since 1998, who will discuss "How to Develop a Workable Personal Spending Plan."
Various topics to be covered by Wilkins in her spending-plan presentation will include: Getting and Staying Out of Debt, Developing a Successful Savings Plan, How to Handle Housing Problems, Successful and Stress-Free Retirement and Training Children in Thrift.
Special attention will also be given to the unique financial problems of live-alone widows.
There are no fees for attendees, and several printed materials will be distributed during the program free of charge.
