BSHS Spirit Week
Berkeley Springs High School had their annual spirit week October 8-12 leading up to homecoming. Monday was "Jersey Day." Students wore jerseys from all their favorite sports teams. A majority of students wore a West Virginia University jersey.
Tuesday was "Black and White Day." They also had their own homecoming parade. Each class had made their own float and rode on it in the parade, along with the homecoming court. The floats were judged, and the freshmen won "best float." After the parade, their was a bon-fire beside the football field. The cheerleaders did sound-off, which gives each class a turn to scream and be loud to show their spirit. They were judged and seniors were considered the loudest.
Wednesday was "Class Colors Day." Freshmen were purple, sophomores were green, juniors were orange and seniors were red.
Thursday was "80s Day," a day where students could go back in time. There were a lot of demin skirts, cut sweatshirts, heels and legwarmers. Bright colors were also a big thing in the'80s.
Friday was "School Color Day." Almost all students could be seen wearing blue and gold. They also had a pep rally take place. Also that morning students had the opportunity to go in early and decorate each class' part of the bleachers. They were judged and seniors won.
There was also "a loudness" contest. Each class would try to make the most amount of noise. The juniors won that round. Also a group of football players and two cheerleaders danced to the song, "Soldier Boy." It was a great laugh. Each fall sports team was recognized as well.
Friday night was the homecoming game against Keyser. It was our first loss and plans to be our last. Morgan Buzzerd and Sam Byrne were awarded king and queen for homecoming 2007.
Saturday was the night of the homecoming dance. It was made possible by the homecoming committee.
Seniors won #1 most spirit class!
