Student expelled for over-the-counter drugs
September 18, 2007
School officials expelled a Berkeley Springs High School student on September 10 for breaking the school's substance abuse policy. The male 16-year-old student was caught possessing and distributing over-the-counter medications at the school.
The student's expulsion will last 45 days, though he can be conditionally readmitted to school after 15 days if the high school principal and school superintendent agree to his return. The student must also submit to drug testing and attending regular counseling sessions in order to return to school.
