Two suspended for vandalism at Berkeley Springs High SchoolTwo female Berkeley Springs High School students were suspended Monday, September 10 for vandalizing school property.
According to Chief Deputy Vince Shambaugh, criminal charges of destruction of property and conspiracy are pending. Deputy Kevin Barney, the school's Prevention Resource Officer, said he is investigating three other persons of interest in the case.
The incidents occurred early Saturday morning, a few hours after the Friday night football game, between 1 to 1:30 a.m. Apparently, some of the acts of vandalism were caught on security cameras.
The students are accused of dumping the nearly full trash cans from the football game, driving the school's $2,300 golf cart into Warm Springs Run, and breaking into, stealing food and vandalizing the concession stand.
