AWANA fall kick-Off
AWANA's fall season begins at Calvary Bible Church Friday, September 7 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. All kids aged kindergarten through sixth grade are welcome.
AWANA is a Christian children's club that offers youngsters a wholesome, God-centered time of fellowship and fun. Supervised weekly meetings include Bible memorization, games and other activities all aimed at fostering healthy, Christ-centered, spiritual maturity.
There are two groups: Sparks for children aged kindergarten to second grade and Truth and Training (aka T&T) Club for third to sixth grade students.
According to Calvary Pastor B.J. Worley, AWANA's stated mission of "reaching children with the gospel of Christ and training them to serve Him" is more important than ever.
"I strongly encourage parents to have their children join AWANA and come take a look themselves," says Pastor Worley. "It's a rare chance for a safe, fun, nurturing time that can really help ground kids in God's truth."
Calvary Bible Church is located off Route 522, just past the Food Lion shopping center, on the left. Regular Sunday services take place at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., with Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday evening service is at 6:30 p.m.
