Wednesday, August 29
8:30-9:30 a.m. Meet at the Nature Center for a morning bird walk.
11-12 p.m. Meet at the lodge to hike and learn about a few common edible plants and some of their medicinal/nutritional qualities.
2-3 p.m. Meet at the Nature Center for a study of the many critters living in the stream.
5-5:30 p.m. Scavenger hunt: Meet at the Nature Center.
Special program tonight: 8 p.m. Applachian Dance with Lou Maiuri: Traditional Appalachian dance and modern line dance instruction will be lead by Lou Maiui. He is the director and founder of the Appalachian Country Cloggers and is well known throughout the country for his line dancing and teaching abilities. Join the fun downstairs in the conference room at the lodge.
Thursday, August 30
10-11 a.m. Meet at the Nature Center to hike the Ridge Trail.
1-1:45 p.m. WV Reptiles: Go to the Nature Center to learn more about some common species that may be found on the park.
4-5 p.m. Meet at the Nature Center to make own creative craft.
8-9 p.m. Meet at the Lodge to learn more about wonders of the night.
Friday, August 31
10-11 a.m. History Stroll: Meet at the Nature Center.
1-2 p.m. Tracks Among Us: Meet at the Nature Center to make a plaster of paris track to take home.
4-4:45 p.m. Treasure Hunt! Go to the Nature Center to learn the basics on how to read a compass.
7:30-8:30 p.m. Deer Stroll: Meet the naturalist at the lodge.
Saturday, September 1
10-11 a.m. Piney Ridge Trail: Meet the naturalist at the lodge for this 3/4 mile interpretive trail.
1-1:30 Nature Bingo
3-4 p.m. Ugliest Bug Contest: Meet at the Nature Center.
5-5:30 p.m. Eyewitness Amphibians: At the Nature Center for this 30-minute video the explores the world of amphibians.
8-9 p.m. Cacapon Campfire: Meet at the campfire circle for a marshmallow roasting.
Sunday, September 2
Homecoming Celebration:
11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Music-bands – silent auction – door prizes and more sponsored by the Cacapon State Park Foundation.
