Man sentenced for upping tips

A Berkeley Springs man was given a suspended prison sentence after pleading to forgery last week in Morgan County Circuit Court.

Jonathon L. T. Day, 25, of Jared Way, Great Cacapon, pled to three counts of changing the tip amounts on credit card receipts while working at a local restaurant last fall.

Circuit Judge Gina Groh sentenced Day to one-to-10 years in prison, then suspended the sentence and placed him on five years probation. Day also faces charges in Berkeley County, according to the prosecutor's office.

Probation revoked

Judge Groh also revoked the probation of David M. Fleece, 22, of Berkeley Springs. Fleece pled last year to conspiring to deliver marijuana and was placed on two years probation. After serving four months in jail, he will again be put on probation, according to the Morgan County Circuit Clerk's Office.
