Heart attack risk program offered at War Memorial
Area residents wanting to learn their risk of heart disease can participate in a health screening through War Memorial Hospital and Winchester Medical Center.
War Memorial Hospital and Winchester Medical Center will offer the Heart Attack Risk Screening on Wednesday, August 29 from 8-11 a.m. in the conference room at War Memorial Hospital.
Individuals will have their risk of heart disease assessed by participating in a simple health screening that will provide participants with information on their total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol/HDL ratio, triglycerides, blood sugar, blood pressure, and body weight/body mass index.
The screening process, which is conducted by appointment only, will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Participants must fast for 12 hours before their appointment time.
A fee applies to the screening. The fee is waived for anyone who has had open heart surgery at Winchester Medical Center.
For more information about the Heart Attack Risk Screening or to schedule an appointment, call Paul Cooper at 258-6577.
