June 7 blood drive nets 55 units
The Jefferson-Morgan Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross held a blood drive at the American Legion Post #60 on June 7.
Fifty-five productive units of blood were received with 65 individuals presenting to donate, including Lawrence Springer, Renna Shetler, Audrey Clark, Kenneth Wilson, Frank Kucharski, Gladston Michael, Dulcie Reed, Denise Edmister, Mary Lee Edmister, Paul Truitt, Paul Buday, Kermit Ambrose, John Householder, Daniel Williams, Sr., Terry Miller, David Hall, Nathaniel Spring, Jean Miller, Roy Koppe, Paul Holmes, Steven Davison, Dorothy Everett, Anna Frederick, Debra VanGosen, Lynda Tyler, Michael Nathan, James Lopp, William Allgyer, Thomas Zahnow, Samantha Reinold, Paul Mason, Timothy Faith, Brenda Gloyd, Donald Diorio, Wanda Dodson, Jimmy Largent, Jr., Edward Fochtman, James Moore, Marcyanna Millet, David Yost, Michael McClintock, Robert Lilly, Frank Vanderholt III, Roger Burroughs, Alfred Fowler, Joan Holmes, Michelle Ritchie, Patricia Payne, Joseph Gentile, Kim Khuen, Sena M. McBee, Sena L. McBee, Jason Fipps, Cindy Heidel, Foster Sirbaugh, Jr., Joan Luthardt, Marilyn Hall, Michael Myers, Rhonda R. McDaniel, Eileen Markous, Abigail Markous, Larry Barkdoll, Kevin Yost and James Kell.
Volunteers were: Betty Bratton, Ilean Waugh, Joan and Paul Holmes, Betty Allgyer, Betty Stotler, Sally Payne, Sally Purcell, Gerrie Willard, Kathy and Jim Arbogast, Keith Ott, Vickie Burry, Marlene Hannon and Dan Yother.
The blood donations have the potential to save 165 hospital patients who rely on the combined efforts for life-saving blood.
Food Lion gave a donation of $25 Gift Card; War Memorial Hospital and The Country Inn provided the soups.
