Berkeley Springs carnival lineup features regional recording artists

The officials of the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company carnival announces this year's musical entertainments lineup for the week of Monday, July 16 through Saturday, July 21. This year's entertainment features some of the best recording artists in the region. All have either released their own recording or are in production. These entertainers promise some great performances and all six free nights are free to the public.

Friday, the carnival stage will once again offer area amateur crooners a chance to compete at the firemen's popular karaoke talent competition open to the first 30 registered that evening. On Saturday there will be a baby contest with registration starting at 6 p.m.

The carnival is located along 522 north of Berkeley Springs on the U.S. Silica grounds and operates in the evening hours from Monday, July 16 through Saturday, July 21, featuring rides and games from Snyder's Amusements and lots of food.

Also back by popular demand, the firemen are offering one price admission to rides each night.

July 16, Monday – The Flashbacks featuring Dr. Matt Hahn on vocals and vintage rock and roll, country and hillbilly music.

July 17, Tuesday – Nashville recording artist Bob Plunkert and Real Country.

July 18, Wednesday – Hillbilly Girl recording artists Tori Anderson and Possum Holler will perform songs from "Substantially Blue."

July 19, Thursday – Sam and the All-nighter, an original release from Sam Cubbage.

July 20, Friday – Karaoke Contest. Special judges and great prizes. Call information 304-258-3449. Registration at 6:15 p.m. First 30 registered get to perform for the crowd. This has been the biggest night in the past five years. Go out and see a friend be a star!

NBT Recording Artists, the Sanders Sisters, will warm up for the contest at 7 p.m.

July 21, Saturday – The Drifting Whistle Pigs traditional and outlaw country.

Show times Monday through Thursday 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Friday warm-up show at 7 p.m., then contest.

Saturday 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
