Graduation follow up at Paw Paw High School
Paw Paw High School's 102nd commencement ceremony was held May 25 at in the school gymnasium with 13 students graduating.
Cindy Lease, Paw Paw Schools' secretary played the prelude, processional, and recessional on the piano. Michelle Fleming, principal, greeted the guests, introduced the valedictorian, salutatorian, and presented the diplomas. Laci Rotruck, class president, introduced the guest speaker, former Paw Paw High English teacher Steven Vandevender. Guidance Counselor Sabra Maguire presented the awards and scholarships. Julie Kidwell presented a slide show of the graduates.
Valedictorian Timothy "T.J." Holliday received the valedictorian trophy, the Paw Paw American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Valedictorian Award, the Spinney Kidwell Memorial Award, the Senator Robert Byrd Valedictorian Award, the Top of the Mountain Academic Excellence in the Mountain State Award, the United States Army Reserve Scholar Athlete Award, the John Phillips Sousa Award, the Outstanding Senior Band Award, the Outstanding Citizenship Plaque, the Henry Miller Scholarship, the WVU Presidential Scholarship, the Margaret Hott Zembower Scholarship and the Governor Bob Wise Promise Scholarship.
Salutatorian Jessica Miller received the salutatorian trophy, the Paw Paw American Legion Auxiliary Salutatorian Award and the Best All-Around Students Plaque.
Russell Osborne received the Outstanding Leadership Plaque.
Jonathan Shirley received the Evonne Chamberlain Memorial Award and the Roy Kline Memorial Award.
Laci Rotruck received the Paw Paw Scholarship, the CNB Employees Scholarship and the American Legion Auxiliary Most Improved Student Award.
Eric Weaver received the Margaret Zembower Post Secondary Award, the Paw Paw Lions Club Scholarship, the James M. Sharp Memorial Scholarship, the Paw Paw High School Alumni Scholarship, the PTO Scholarship and the Morgan County Student Aid Fund Scholarship.
Bonnie Cline received the Droze Zembower Memorial Award, the Allegany College of Maryland Presidential Scholarship and the Paw Paw High school Alumni Scholarship.
