Enterprise Rent-a-Car opens in Berkeley Springs
If you need to rent a vehicle, there's now an Enterprise Rent-a-Car location in Berkeley Springs. Enterprise Rent-a-Car is located at 2976 Valley Road in the same building as Herb's Quality Used Cars and Trucks. The business opened on February 1.
Jeremy Williams is the assistant manager and Darin Thomas is the management assistant of the local Enterprise Rent-a-Car office. They offer vehicle rentals for business or personal use, Friday to Monday weekend rental specials, a corporate account rental program, 24-hour roadside assistance for customers and sales of rental vehicles.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car serves all of Berkeley Springs and Hancock and the surrounding area, including Warfordsburg, parts of Paw Paw and the area extending halfway south to Winchester, said Williams.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Berkeley Springs is a satellite office for the Martinsburg branch, of which Kevin Clark is the manager. The Martinsburg-Berkeley Springs branch is part of their DC region, said Thomas. The company's main office is in St. Louis, Missouri.
Pick-up service, rentals
Enterprise Rent-a-Car has a pick-up service if your car breaks down or if you need to rent a vehicle for vacation, business or personal use. For vacation rentals, they offer unlimited mileage except for west of the Mississippi, said Williams.
The company works with insurance companies, body shops and local businesses, said Thomas. A lot of times following an accident or a vehicle breakdown, people will find out that their car insurance doesn't cover rentals, said Williams. In those cases, Enterprise Rent-a-Car offers discounted rentals, he said.
The Berkeley Springs office keeps a small inventory of rental vehicles on hand. They also have rental access to a fleet of about 150 rental vehicles, all of which can be pulled from nearby West Virginia or Virginia branches, said Thomas.
Rents all makes & models
Enterprise Rent-a-Car rents all makes and models of vehicles, including two-door and four-door full-size, standard, intermediate and compact sedans, sports utility vehicles, pick-up trucks and mini-vans as well as cargo vans if a customer needs to haul something. Corporate rental accounts can lease a 15-passenger vehicle if they need to transport more than 10 people to an event, said Thomas.
The company doesn't carry many luxury vehicles in their rental fleet because they don't get much call for them. But they can arrange for a luxury vehicle like a Cadillac with about five days notice.
Corporate accounts
Their Corporate Class business rental program offers low rates for business and personal rentals, unlimited drivers/
no fee, no drop fee and direct billing plans. The corporate rental account is valid at any Enterprise Rent-a-Car location. There is no charge to set up a corporate account, said Thomas. Corporate accounts work just
as well for independent
business owners as for large corporate business owners, he said.
24-hour roadside assistance
For customers, they provide a 24-hour roadside assistance program if they run out of gas, have a blown tire or they need towed, said Thomas. The service comes free with vehicle rentals or to customers that purchase one of their rental vehicles.
No matter where you are, 90% of the United States is within 15 minutes of an Enterprise Rent-a-Car location, said Thomas. They decided to set up a branch in Berkeley Springs since the area was growing in population and business and they had been doing 40-45 minute runs to Martinsburg.
"Anyone who's ever had car trouble knows it's good to have an Enterprise nearby," said Thomas.
Future
At present, the Enterprise Rent-a-Car office in Berkeley Springs is a one-man operation, with either Williams or Thomas onsite. Their duties include dropping off cars, picking up cars and handling paperwork. Eventually they hope to staff the location with a second person.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car has all their work done in the community, bringing business to local businesses with oil changes and new tires for vehicles, they said.

The company prides itself on customer service and considers it their first priority.
"We want to make sure every customer is completely satisfied," said Thomas.
The Berkeley Springs office of Enterprise Rent-a-Car received one of their company's top scores this month for a customer satisfaction survey that was done by an outside company.
