Sanders Sisters perform for Ali Ghan Shriners
Ali Ghan Shriners will feature the Sanders Sisters from Berkeley Springs on May 3 at a dinner theater to raise money for Ali Ghan's transportation fund. The theater will be held in the Main Ballroom of Ali Ghan in Cumberland, Md. Music has been a major part of the sisters' lives since childhood. They have had their own radio show and perform their music in harmony. They performed at the Imperial Shrine Session in Tampa, Fla. in July of 2006. The Sanders Sisters are currently working on their second CD. They perform every style of music from country to classical along with a little bit of everything else in between. The sisters are Linda Caldwell, Carol Chaney and Cathy DeLawder.
Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. followed by the show at 8 p.m.

In 1922 Shriners started a hospital system to treat children with complex orthopedic problems. Later burns and spinal cord injuries were added to the list of treatments provided at Shriners Hospitals.
To date Shriners Hospitals have treated more than 720,000 children. There is never a charge to the patient, parent or any third party for any service or medical treatment received at Shriners Hospitals. Shriners Hospitals accept and treat children without regard to race, religion or relationship to a Shriner. Any child 18 and under may be eligible, if the hospital staff thinks Shriners Hospitals can help the child. Today there are 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children throughout North America. In order to maintain the "cost free" care of these children, including transporting them to and from the hospital, a restricted Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund is maintained by Ali Ghan Shriners which is used solely for payment of ordinary and necessary expenses incurred in arranging for and providing transportation to and from Shriners Hospitals for patients and their parents or guardians.
These expenses are limited to the following expenses: fuel, oil, signage, maintenance, improvements, repairs, insurance, taxes and tags for vans; trip supplies; patient, driver, parent or guardian lodging and meals; air and bus fare; postage and long-distance telephone; expenses related to off-premise clinics and for the replacement of transportation vans which are only used to transport children.
One hundred percent of the money in this fund is used to transport local children to the Philadelphia (orthopedic) and Cincinnati (burns) hospitals. Money donated to the Hospital Transportation Fund is tax deductible as a charitable contribution (Section 501(c) (3) of IRS code 1986). None of the money in this fund can be used for operating expenses of Ali Ghan Shriners.
