Candidates turnout in Paw Paw

A bunch of candidates have now filed for Paw Paw town office, assuring contests for mayor and council.

Eldridge Kerns, who was Paw Paw mayor in the mid-1970s, filed for the mayor's post. Ken Crites had previously filed for the job.

Lisa Groah, Eric Kidwell, Angela King, Cecil King Jr. and Ed Ridgeway all filed for Paw Paw council. They join Karen Hayes, Rose Newlon and Alton Wolfe, Jr. who filed last week, so there are now eight candidates for the five council seats.

As of mid-afternoon on Monday, no one had announced for Town Recorder.

Candidates had until 5 p.m. on Tuesday to file. A complete list will be in next week's Morgan Messenger.

Election day in Paw Paw is Tuesday, June 5.
