JV Baseball
The Berkeley Springs JV baseball team opened up last Tuesday at home against Martinsburg and lost 13-8. Berkeley gave up one run in the first inning and 10 runs on five errors in the second inning.
Berkeley settled down and played some impressive ball over the next five innings. The team turned two double plays and started to hit the ball. Delvin Walsh started on the mound and lasted one and two thirds innings, giving up six runs. Taylor Sipe came in and gave up two runs.
The coaches were impressed with Speilman's pitching and the way he kept the hitters off balance. The coaches were glad to see the players not give up after being down by 11 runs. The team hung in there and stayed tough.
The Berkeley Springs JV team includes: Brad Reed, Delvin Walsh, Taylor Sipe, Robbie Williams, Ben Griffith, Dylan Speilman, Nathan Blake, Geoffrey Blankenship, Joe Jackson, Roman Miller, Chris Sipe, Shawn Gibson, Dillion Goldsberry and Zac Yonker.
Coaches are Ronnie Clatterbuck and Kenny Mason.
