Chief Deputy Vince Shambaugh reported these recent calls:
March 19
Alarm on Sir Johns Run Road. All appeared secure.
Fight complaint on Dr. Randolph Spencer Drive. Two deputies responded, one party gone on arrival, the other refused charges.
Disorderly conduct at the CSX station. A female subject was removed from an AMTRAK train. Charges pending.
March 20
Mental health hearing. Male subject picked up and brought in for hearing on Martinsburg Road.
Fight reported on Independence Street. A juvenile male and female were into a verbal altercation. No charges.
Single vehicle accident on Audubon Road. Driver fled the scene. Charges pending.
Alarm on Rosebud Land. All appeared secure.
Unruly Juvenile on New Hope Road. Deputy advised 14 year old male of domestic violence laws/courses of action.
Arrest of Samantha J. Smith on three worthless check warrants.
March 21
Motorist assist on US 522, tractor trailer with tire problems.
Felony assault on two officers. Four deputies, the Sheriff, two BSPD officers, BSPD Chief, one State Trooper, and one Hampshire County deputy responded to Paw Paw. K-9s deployed. See related story.
Petit larceny report taken on Susan Terrace.
March 22
Keep the peace on Clone Run Road. Tractor dealer performing a repossession.
Assist BSPD with a reported abduction.
Illegal burning on Laurel Avenue. Subject advised of local laws, fire put out.
Domestic dispute on Shade Lane. Complainant left prior to arrival.
Court security provided by three deputies and one bailiff for recidivistism jury trial.
Arrest of James Spencer, 50, for malicious assault on a police officer.
Grand larceny report taken at Roy's Service Center.
March 23
Alarm on Creek Road. All appeared secure.
Arrest of Shane A. Ginevan for obstructing an officer at the Paw Paw American Legion.
Automotive fire on Pious Ridge Road. No charges.
Assist WVSP with a vehicle accident on Martinsburg Road.
Alarm at Berkmore Plaza. All appeared secure.
Shoplifting at the 7-11 store. Male subject advised not to trespass there in future as per clerk's request.
Reckless driver report on Fairview Drive. Located and spoke to driver who was still on private property and drinking. Driver advised to go to bed, keys given to his father.
Arrest of Gregory Glaser on a bond revocation order.
Delivery of a controlled substance report taken. Area undisclosed due to pending investigation.
March 24
Domestic dispute on Johnson Mill Road. All verbal. Male left on his own will.
Unruly juvenile on Green Street. Spoke with male, situation corrected.
Assist local fire companies with house fire on Derrick Court.
Trespassing on Valley Road. Suspect left prior to arrival.
Injured deer put down on Valley Road.
Single vehicle accident on Spohrs Road. Driver fled scene. Alcohol, illegal drugs, and drug paraphernalia located in vehicle. Charges pending.
Sheriffs' K-9 search of a truck and dump truck at the intersection of Sugar Hollow Road. A small amount of marijuana was located. Driver was cited.
Arson report taken on Clone Run Road.
March 25
Alarm on Woodmont Road. All appeared secure.
Domestic battery on Berryville Circle. Report filed. Arrest made.
Battery report filed on Lee Street. Charges pending.
Fight complaint at Townhouse Apartments. All verbal.
Domestic dispute on Potomac Street. All verbal.
Arrest of Larry R. Stroman for domestic battery second offense.
Destruction of property report taken on Valley Road.
Littering report taken on Spohrs Road.
Arrest of Allen Sacharov for domestic battery.
MCSD also issued 30 traffic citations and warnings, responded to 25 additional calls not requiring written reports, served 32 civil papers and conducted seven transports this past week.
