Challenge extended for Humane Society
The Humane Society of Morgan County announces that the donor group that created The St. Patrick's Day Matching Challenge" has extended the deadline for the challenge. Database failure prevented generation of mailing labels for the donor appeal prepared to go out in conjunction with the related advertising appeals.
To redeem the project and be good stewards of the challenge grant, several Board members, including the officers, spent many hours searching old data records for donor information and hand-addressed all of the envelopes in the mailing.
Learning of the dedicated efforts of these board members to get out this mailing, in addition to all of the things the board is working on to improve the functioning of the organization and of the adoption center, the donor group extended the challenge to the end of March.
In keeping with the green theme of St. Patrick's Day, the Humane Society of Morgan County offers "green" (eco-friendly and natural) pet care tips. Be careful with flea and tick collars, powders and sprays. Many of these products areas hazardous to your pets as they are to the critters they are meant to kill. If you check with your vet before using any of those products, you will safeguard your pet's health and protect it from fleas and ticks. Buying natural pet products to feed and care for your pet is also a good investment in the life and health of your pet. Some are available online, in catalogs, and at pet supply stores.
While natural pet products are generally more expensive than other pet products, they most often prove to be more than worth their cost in the quality of life and health they provide for your pet as well as helping to prevent much of the vet expense that so often comes from not using the best quality pet products.
To participate in the challenge, the community is asked to send their donation checks payable to: The Humane Society of Morgan County, P.O. Box 705, Berkeley Springs,
WV 25411. Notate on the
check that the donation is for the "St. Patrick's Day Challenge." The Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organiza-tion and all donations are tax deductible.
Weekly updates on the status of donations are posted on the Humane Society website: www.hsmc-wv.org where you will also find a calendar of upcoming events, news and information related to the Humane Society and various ways to help support the adoption center.
