Moore-Riggs wedding
Emily Riggs and Michael Moore were united in marriage on October 28, 2006 at the Macintosh Mansion in Spencer. Pastor Charles Schaeffer performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Foster (Sonny) and Joyce Riggs of Berkeley Springs. The groom is the son of William and Berneice Moore of Walton.
The bride was escorted by her father and wore a full-length white wedding gown and carried a bouquet of white and red roses. Samantha Yarrington, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Arlin Riggs, sister of the bride, and Crystal Bretz, sister of the groom, were the bridesmaids.
The best man was Sean Allen. The groomsmen were Robert Hargus, friend of the groom and Jeff Bretz, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were William Moore, father of the groom, and George Zollner, uncle of the groom. The ringbearer was Max Feinman, son of Dr. and Mrs. Mitchell Feinman. The flower girl was Hannah Harper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Harper.
Following the ceremony a full course dinner was held at the Macintosh Mansion. Wine was provided by the local Roane Vineyards of Spencer. Tracy Keaton of Spencer was the caterer. Piano and dinner music was provided by Trish Barnhouse of Spencer. A four tier wedding cake was decorated in silver and maroon.
A reception followed the dinner with dancing and entertainment provided by Action 21 of Charleston. Photography was handled by Ray Dietz of Spencer and Cooper's Florist of Spencer prepared the flowers.
Seventy-five guests attended from Maryland, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, South Carolina, West Virginia and Canada.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Roane County High School and works for the State of West Virginia.
The couple took a short honeymoon in Williamsburg, Va. and are planning a cruise during 2007. They reside in Walton.
