Design underway

The Morgan County Commissioners viewed a preliminary three-story design for the future county courthouse at their February 9 meeting. The Morgan County Courthouse was destroyed in an August 8 fire.

Architect Tom Potts of Silling Associates/Architects of Charleston shared blueprints of a potential layout of county offices and parking spaces for the courthouse complex.

Potts is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, February 20

with the County Commis-

sioners and officials from

each county department that will be located in the new courthouse complex to go

over their space design and layout.

A public meeting on the courthouse design progress will be scheduled once Potts has a chance to review additional input from county departments about their space. Potts will prepare a three-dimensional model of the courthouse design for the meeting.
