Bomb hoax reported at Berkeley Springs High

Due to a bomb hoax, students were not allowed in the Arts & Humanities Building at Berkeley Springs High School for part of the day on Friday, January 5.

Chief Deputy Vince Shambaugh said police were called to the school after a bomb threat was found written on an upstairs bathroom wall about 11 a.m. The bomb was supposed to go off at 1 p.m., he said.

Sheriff's deputies and school staff searched the building after students were evacuated, but nothing was found. Students returned to the building shortly after 1:30 p.m.
