Let the feds take a look at it
Two weeks ago, we commented on the uproar over the firing of Dr. Matt Hahn from Tri-State Community Health Center. Everything we said has proven to be true, as far as we know.
The firing did seem to be over Hahn's willingness to present a staff grievance to the center's board of directors. And some of Hahn's loyal patients have been canceling their appointments.
Last week, the Hagerstown Morning Herald editorialized on the matter, saying the patients and community deserve a better explanation than they've gotten so far as to why this jewel of a physician has to leave.
Since the center receives millions of dollars in federal funding, the Hagerstown paper said federal authorities should look into what happened.
We, too, believe there should be an investigation of what happened, how the clinic operates and why there are no representatives on the board from Morgan County and Hancock. If the center is to continue successfully in Hancock, some answers and a clearing of the air are necessary.
