Grand Jury indicts 20 Man charged with murder attempt
A man charged with attempted murder was one of 20 people indicted by the Morgan County Grand Jury on Tuesday, January 8.
Timothy G. Evans, 45, of Hunters Camp Road, Great Cacapon, was indicted for attempted murder, malicious assault, brandishing a knife and domestic battery.
The charges all stemmed from an alleged attack on Angelic Meade on September 27. Evans is accused of stabbing Meade several times.
Following his arrest at the time, Evans' bond was set at $250,000 in Magistrate Court.
Evans and the others indicted last week are scheduled to
be arraigned before Circuit Judge Gina Groh on Tues-
day, January 22. At that time, they will enter pleas to the charges against them and trial dates and bond amounts will be set.
Sexual abuse case
John W. Christopher, 40, of Dunlap Road, Pasadena, Md. was indicted for two felony offenses related to the sexual abuse of an 8-year-old in the winter of 2005-2006.
Domestic battery allegations
Priscilla A. Shambaugh of Henry O. Michael Road, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for a third offense of domestic battery, a felony allegedly committed in November, 2006.
Ryan J. Weber, 23, of Duckwall Road, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for domestic battery. He allegedly hit a woman in the face with a piece of wood last September.
Child abuse charges
Three members of a Berkeley Springs family were reindicted on child abuse offenses, involving the risk of physical injury to children between 2004 and 2006.
Indicted were Henry J. Mc-Cormick, 55, and Diane Mc-Cormick, 50, of Thornwood Drive, and Andrew S. McCormick, 25, who now lives in Las Vegas. They had all been originally indicted last year on the same allegations.
Drug charges
Raymond L. Unger, 51, of Martinsburg Road, Hedgesville, was indicted for five counts of possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver. The drugs included methodone, heroin, vicodine and cocaine. Unger was also indicted for delivery of a controlled substance, heroin. All of the offenses allegedly took place in July and August, 2007.
Joseph M. Adams, 28, and Tabitha Younker of Morning Dove Lane, Great Cacapon, were indicted for possession of heroin with intent to deliver and for delivery of heroin last July. They were also indicted for conspiring to deliver heroin.
Rhonda Reichle, 51, of Clone Run Road, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for possession of codeine with intent to deliver and for two counts of delivery of marijuana last winter.
Burglary & theft cases
Sarina A. Bryson, 25, was indicted for the burglary of a home in August, and the theft of several rings, other jewelry, DVDs, prescription drugs and lingerie from the residence. She is presently in the Eastern Regional Jail, Martinsburg.
Robert Portmas, 29, of Ridgeley was indicted for damage to railroad property, destruction of property and petit larceny. He is accused of damaging signal lines, a utility pole and insulators, and of stealing signal wire last September.
DUI allegations
Shaun Longerbeam, 25, of Middleway Pike, Kearneysville, was indicted for a felony third offense of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and for driving while his license was revoked for DUI last August.
Jose Ovidio Santos, 41, was indicted for a felony third offense of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and for driving while his license was revoked for DUI in November. At last report, he was in the Eastern Regional Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond.
Robert W. Black, Jr., 56, of Painted Meadow Lane, Berkeley Springs, was indicted for a felony third offense of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages last September.
Erick J. Royson, 20, of Squirrel Drive, Hedgesville, was indicted for a second offense of driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages as well as fleeing from police while under the influence, driving while his license was revoked for DUI, driving left of center, reckless driving, speeding, having no license or insurance, and fleeing on foot. The charges all arose from an incident on November 1.
Other indictments
Steven B. Goldman, 38, of Somerset Drive, Harrisburg, Illinois was indicted for two counts of failure to pay child support between 1991 and 2008.
Sherry L. Reed, 31, was indicted for failing to appear for a pretrial hearing in a forgery case last July. She is presently in the Eastern Regional Jail.
George W. Sager, Jr., 43, was indicted for failing to appear at a hearing at which he was to plead in a child support case in February, 2007. He is presently in the Eastern Regional Jail.
