Commission chooses refinance amount

After the refinancing plan is read to the building commission one last time on March 7, the Morgan County Commis-sion will be able to re-finance the loan on the new courthouse.

The amount the commission decided to pay down was $4 million on the remaining debt of roughly $7.6 million.

Capital improvement and fire recovery funds will be used to pay this debt, and the payment was kept low enough taxes will not raise as a result.
