Entries invited for Morgan County Photo Contest
Photographs are now being accepted for the 2013 Morgan County Photo Contest, sponsored by The Morgan Messenger. The deadline for entries is Friday, April 26.
Area photographers, amateur or professional, may submit local scenes. Entries should be representative of the scenery, people, places and symbols of Morgan County, West Virginia. The contest is now in its tenth year.
Winners will receive a year’s subscription to The Morgan Messenger and other gifts.
The winning pictures will be printed in The Morgan Messenger in an issue around Memorial Day. Other entries may be used in the newspaper or other Messenger projects throughout the next year.
Categories are subject to change based on the kinds of entries received. Awards have been given in the past for Best People Photo, Animal Photo, Nature Photo, Nature Closeup, Scenic and Structure Photo, as well as a Judge’s Choice for general eye-catching appeal.
Color photos are suggested, but black and white scenes have won awards in the past. Prints or printouts of the pictures must be provided. No specific size is required. There is no entry fee or limit on the number of submissions.
Each entry must be clearly marked with the photographer’s name and contact information, and with the subject or caption info.
Photos may be dropped off at The Messenger office through April 26, or mailed to: Morgan County Photo Contest, c/o The Morgan Messenger, P. O. Box 567, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
