Relay For Life kickoff

The Kickoff for Relay For Life of Morgan County 2013 was held Monday, January 14 at Mountainside Restaurant with several team fundraisers, door prizes, food and fun.

With the theme this year being “Sock It To Cancer,” a sock hop fundraiser will be held Saturday, March 23 at the Cacapon State Park Old Inn from 6-9:30 p.m. There will be music, food, games, and a silent auction. More details later.

A new team was welcomed; and Sharon Schmeling and Buffy Bradley agreed to be Survivorship Chairs.

Spaghetti dinner and auction fundraiser is April 20 at the American Legion, Berkeley Springs. Each team that participates in assisting will get a portion of the proceeds for their team.

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society recommends yearly exams and pap tests for women. Risk factors include smoking and family history. Call 800-227-2345 for more information and for programs and services offered by ACS.

Next meeting will be held Monday, February 11, 6:30 p.m., at Mountainside.

Relay For Life of Morgan County will be held Saturday, June 8 starting at 3 p.m. at Widmyer Elementary School track.
