Duckwall-Grubb wedding

Sarah Jo Grubb and Robby Lee Duckwall were united in marriage on June 9, 2012, at The Purple Iris in Martinsburg.

The bride is the daughter of Fred (Buddy) and Joanna Grubb of Inwood. She is the granddaughter of Fred and Pat Grubb of Inwood and George and Shirley Heckman of North Port, Fla.

The groom is the son of Kevin and Christy Duckwall of Berkeley Springs. He is the grandson of Daniel and Iris Jean Duckwall of Berkeley Springs; Emma Kay Deaton-Rhodes of Eufaula, Okla. and the late Robert Deaton.

The outdoor ceremony was performed by Pastor Mike Bennett, a close friend of the groom. The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory strapless, lace gown with a scalloped lace train. She carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangeas, peonies, roses and Queen Anne’s lace.

Maid of honor was the bride’s friend, Hannah Hartley of Martinsburg. Her bridesmaids were friends Brittany Sullivan of Inwood; Ashton Ramsburg of Hedgesville; Brynn Walling of Hedgesville; Taylor Effland of Bunker Hill; and Cara Milburn of Camp Hill, Pa. Programs were attended by Katie Shepard, friend of the bride.

The groom wore a khaki tuxedo with an ivory vest and tie with an ivory rose boutonniere. Best man was the groom’s father, Kevin Duckwall. Groomsmen were groom’s brother, Eric Duckwall of Berkeley Springs; friends Tyler Kesecker of Berkeley Springs; Jake Wilson of Berkeley Springs; John Sheehan of Round Hill, Va.; and Bubba Brady of Prince Frederick, Md.

Singing was by the bride’s brother, Cort Grubb and friend of the bride Kaitlin Wagoner.

The reception was also held at The Purple Iris. Music was provided by Rick Rohn.

The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at The Holiday Inn in Martinsburg.

After a honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica, the couple resides in Martinsburg.
