Indians win two at Jason Eades Duals

The Berkeley Springs Indian wrestling team hit the road for a trip to Point Pleasant to participate in the Jason Eades Duals.

The Indians still struggling to fill weight classes were able to pick up two team victories, their first dual wins of the season.

On Friday, the Indians managed a 28-24 victory over Liberty and picked up an exciting 37-36 win over Philip Barbour. The Indians lost to Clay County 70-10 and Wirt 57-18 to finish the day with 2-2 record.

Saturday, Day 2 of the duals the Indians lost to Western Brown 53-9, Spring Valley 52-15 and Calhoun County 63-15.

Senior Matt Parkinson continued his undefeated season by going 7-0 through the two day event. Parkinson is currently 20-0 wrestling at both at 220 and the heavyweight weight classes this season.

Junior Billy Wilson went 6-1 and is currently 17-5. Wilson picked up a huge win against his Wirt opponent who was a two time state place winner. Wilson was able to put his shoulders to the mat to gain the pin-fall for the exciting win.

Indian Freshman Ben King went 5-2 for the weekend.

Next up for Berkeley Springs is the James Wood Duals on December 28 and 29 held at James Wood High School in Winchester, Va.
