Gingerbread House contest to benefit Habitat for Humanity

The First United Methodist Church (FUMC) second annual Gingerbread House contest is underway. The entry registration fee will benefit the local Habitat for Humanity. Completed entries are to be dropped off at the high school on December 22, prior to 6 p.m. Winners will also receive prizes donated by area merchants.

All submissions will be displayed and judged at the upcoming “Jingle Jam,” a community-wide Christmas celebration at Berkeley Springs High School Saturday, December 22 at 6 p.m. The Jingle Jam is a free event that will feature music, skits, audience-participation games, and opportunities for guests to be professionally photographed free of charge. Refreshments will also be served.

The registration deadline is December 17. Entries will be judged in various categories according to age groups, and a "People's Choice" prize will be given in each group.

First Church is located at 49 South Green Street in Berkeley Springs. Sunday worship services are at 8:15 and 11 a.m., with several Sunday school classes at 9:45 a.m. There is also a 10 a.m. contemporary family service at Rankin’s Physical Fitness. All are welcome.
