Scholarship for young Morgan County musicians
The Community Choir, Inc. is currently accepting applications for the 2013 George G. Rink Memorial Scholarship for Young Musicians.
Each year, the George G. Rink Memorial Scholarship recognizes up to two exceptional young music students with $250 scholarships to be used to defray the cost of sheet music, instruments, lessons or educational events.
Scholarship applicants must be full-time Morgan County residents between the ages of 12 and 19, and actively pursuing a formal music education.
The application deadline for the 2013 George G. Rink Memorial Scholarship for Young Musicians is Friday, January 25, 2013.
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will receive an invitation from the scholarship committee to audition in Berkeley Springs on March 5, 2013.
The application and copies of the scoring sheets used by the audition judges are available on The Community Choir’s website.
The George G. Rink Memorial Scholarship was established in 2009 by The Community Choir’s Board of Directors in memory of one of the choir’s founding members. The scholarship was developed to further Rink’s dream of supporting the development of young musicians in Morgan County.
