Clean Out Medicine Cabinet Day Sept. 29

“Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day” event will be held on September 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Drop off unused and/or expired prescription and over-the-counter medicines at Rankin Physical Therapy and Fitness Center, which is located at 23 Fitness Lane in Berkeley Springs. The collection staff will be set up in the gymnasium of the Fitness Center.

The ultimate goal of this event is to decrease access and availability of these drugs in homes and at the same time, provide the community with the safest and most efficient means of disposal.

When dropping off medications, participants are being asked to keep the medications in their original containers. Personal information can be crossed out but keep the information about the medication legible.

The only items the program will not be accepting are sharps, thermometers or medical waste. This is a great opportunity to get rid of all unused and expired prescriptions and over the counter medicines.

This event is being sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency, in collaboration with the Morgan County Sheriff's Department, War Memorial Hospital and Morgan County Partnership.
