The Lady Indians hosted Keyser on September 4 in the friendly confines of their home gym. This was the first meeting between the sectional rivals and Keyser pulled out a 3-1 (25-13, 25-8, 17-25, 25-15) victory.

The first two sets the Lady Tornadoes took advantage of miscommunication and missed opportunities for the Lady Indians to score points.

In the third game the Lady Indians came out more focused and determined. With near perfect serves and better communication they secured the third set victory. Leading the way for team was Lauren Schetrompf 11 points, five kills and two blocks. Sarah Keefer had 10 points, five aces, five kills, Casey Solomon eight points, four aces, six kills and Courtney Smith 22 assists and three points.

Head Coach Heather Lorigan stated, “While we played better tonight than last week, we're still not playing completely up to our potential. During the third set tonight, we really came together and played some good volleyball. We were communicating, moving towards the ball and our serving was excellent. If we can play with that kind of synergy consistently, we can certainly be a contender in any match.”

The Lady Indians hosted the Lady Cougars of East Hardy on Thursday night and again came up short of registering their first win of the season. East Hardy took the match 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-11).

Leading the Lady Indians were Casey Solomon five points, four kills, six digs, Idalis Hovermale four points, two kills, and Natalie Redick- 18 assists.

Coach Lorigan stated after the game, “Tonight was another tough loss. We're still having some communication issues, as well as committing simple errors. We are on the road for two matches next week (Mountain View Christian which is in Winchester, Va. and St. Maria Goretti located in Hagerstown, Md.), so hopefully we can get the ball rolling with some wins.”

In Junior Varsity action the Junior Lady Indians dropped both games to Keyser 2-0 (25-1and 25-11). Then on Thursday night they fell to East Hardy 2-0 (25-12 and 25-13).
