Zach Wise sets state career scoring mark

Senior forward Zach Wise now stands atop of the West Virginia soccer record books with 122 goals scored in his career as Berkeley Springs roughed up Frankfort 7-0.
The West Virginia state record was previously held by Brandon Franklin, who scored 119 goals for Class AA school Liberty in 2011. Brian Runyon had 120 goals for Class AAA Parkersburg in 2011.
Wise had four goals, while teammate Cain Ooten had two goals and two assists, Chase Spielman scored a goal, Brandon McCumbee had two assists, Dalton Redick and Liam Khuen each had one assist and Brandon Krawczyk made five saves for the Indians (3-3), who held a 17-8 advantage in shots. With the win the Tribe evens its record at 3-3.
A couple nights back Wise closed in on the record with three goals and an assist as the Indians drubbed Petersburg 5-1. With the three goals, Wise finished the night at career mark 118, one shy of the record. Also for Berkeley Springs on Tuesday, Liam Khuen and Cain Ooten each had a goal, Quentin Thompson, Kirk Spielman and Jake Truax each had an assist, Jeff Breeden had three saves and Brandon Krawzyck had two saves.
