‘Celebrating Patsy Cline’ event at Troubadour
This year’s inductees to the West Virginia Country Music Hall of Fame will be honored on Sunday, September 1, during the “Celebrating Patsy Cline” event at The Troubadour near Berkeley Springs.
Singer Pete Gordon, bluegrass band New Moon and the late bandleader Bill Peer, who helped Cline early in her career, will be inducted at 6 p.m.
The 49th annual festivities will start at 1 p.m. in Troubadour Park, with a pig roast dinner at 2 p.m. Take a covered dish.
Singers and bands will perform throughout the afternoon. Bobby Edenton and the Driftwood Band will be house musicians. There is an open invitation to performers.
Attending will be Patsy Cline Fan Club members from around the U.S. and other countries.
The annual Labor Day Weekend event begins with a Patsy Cline Karaoke Contest at 9 p.m. on Friday, August 31.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded. Singers do not have to sing songs associated with Cline.
