Free programs at James Rumsey

The Jill S. Weekley Learning Center at James Rumsey Technical Institute offers a variety of free programs to students 16 and older who are out of the public school system. All classes and programs are free and available during both day and evening hours.

Programs include: GED preparation, Math Review, Grammer Review, Computer Tutorials, Basic Study Skills/Vocabulary and Essay Writing, LPN Preparation and more.

Energy Express bus schedule

Energy Express bus schedule, Route 522 South & Route 9 East to WSMS.

Students should be at their stops five minutes prior to the schedules pick-up. Energy Express will begin on Monday, June 29 and run through Friday, August 7. Times will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Intermediate school plans outdoor science classroom with weather station



Warm Springs Intermediate School got the go-ahead to build a planned outdoor science classroom from the Morgan County School Board at their June 3 meeting.

Two Morgan County students Jamie Moore and Joshua Smalley were among those named to the Dean's List at Pierpont Community & Technical College after completing the spring 2009 semester.

Science fair winners

Over 50 science projects were presented at the Morgan County Science Fair earlier this spring. Students competed in a dozen categories at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels.

Former resident, People to People Academic Program

Tyler Orr a Student at Spring Mills Middle School, has been accepted into the People to People World Leadership Forum. Orr will join a select group of students in Washington, D.C., June 28 - July 3, 2010 , to study leadership and explore some of the United States' most prominent monuments and institutions.

Orr is a former resident of Morgan County and former student of Warm Springs Middle School.

Summer school food service program

Morgan County Schools announce the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program. The Summer Food Service Program, along with Energy Express, will be held at Widmyer Elementary School in Berkeley Springs. The program will begin June 29 and continue through August 7.

Family-style breakfast and lunch will be available free of charge to all children ages 18 years and under, who would like to participate. Meals are offered Monday-Friday with the exception of Friday, July 3 in observation of the Independence Day holiday. Breakfast serving time is 8-9 a.m. and lunch will be served 11-12 p.m. Adults are welcome to purchase a breakfast and/or lunch as well.
