One man sentenced, probations revoked

One man was sentenced and probation was revoked for two others by Circuit Judge Gina Groh in Morgan County Circuit Court on November 19.

Shannon D. Marshall, 21, of Barber Lane, Berkeley Springs, was given a suspended sentence of 2-to-16 years in prison after pleading guilty to breaking and entering, driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages while his license was revoked, and destruction of property. The charges all arose from a break-in in February.

Travis Richard Thompson, 31, of Wilson Court, Berkeley Springs, was sentenced to four jail terms of one year each and was ordered to pay $667 court costs for three counts of marijuana possession and one count of larceny. All but six months and one day of the jail terms were suspended.

Wendy Lynn Smith, 34, of Valley Road, Berkeley Springs, was sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay $286 fine & court costs for reckless driving. Under the plea agreement, charges of battery and leaving the scene of an accident were dismissed.
