Lady Indians down Keyser 4-2 in sectional final



Goals from Michelle Williams, Rebecca Trump and Meghan Mock, twice gave Berkeley Springs a 4-0 lead with 14:59 seconds remaining in the opening half, as the Indians coasted to their first ever Region II, Section III title, 4-2, on Thursday, October 18 at Morgan Field in Berkeley Springs.

Indians improve to 7-1 with late goal line stand



Berkeley Springs faced its second tough test in as many weeks on Friday, October 19 at Morgan Field. The opponent, Mountain Ridge, Md., came into the game with a 5-1 record and a high ranking in Maryland Class 1A. It was a physical, hard fought football game that wasn't decided until the Indians defense stopped the Miners on four downs inside their own five yard line, with seconds remaining in the game, to preserve a 22-16 victory.

And, Berkeley Springs showed its true mettle on Thursday, October 18, with an exciting five-set victory over visiting Jefferson County.

Lady Indians earn top seed in soccer sectional; Reedy scores four goals



Berkeley Springs defeated Frankfort 5-4 on Wednesday, October 10, at Frankfort to earn the number one seed in their section. The victory insured the Indians, who ended the year 5-0-2 against sectional foes, home field advantage throughout sectional play.

Golden Tornado swirls past Berkeley Springs



The featured high school football game in the area last Friday, October 12, was a match-up of two of the top five teams in West Virginia Class AA, with fifth ranked Keyser visiting second ranked Berkeley Springs. The game lived up to the hype, but the large homecoming crowd left in disappointment, as the Golden Tornado beat the Indians of Berkeley Springs 28-14.

Berkeley Springs sweeps season series against Hancock



The Berkeley Springs High School volleyball team beat Hancock, for the second time in 10 days, to sweep the season series against the Panthers on Wednesday, October 10, in Hancock.

Boys soccer team finishes the regular season, 8-10-1



The Berkeley Springs High School boys soccer team finished the regular season by splitting a pair of games last week. The Indians defeated Frankfort on Wednesday, October 10, before losing the regular season finale to Clear Spring.

Lady Indian Soccer team's defense stands tall

Berkeley Springs allowed one goal in two games last week, helping the Indian soccer team finish the week with one win, one loss and a tie.

"I think our defense has played well all year," said Berkeley Springs girls soccer coach Rocky Riffle. "They have kept us in a lot of games and have done a very good job. It is a tough job, because you usually don't get recognized for it, but make no mistake these girls take a lot of pride in being good at what they do."

Berkeley Springs squashes Yellow Jackets

The Berkeley Springs High School football team remained undefeated on the year, with a 41-14 pasting of visiting Moorefield on Friday, October 5 at Morgan Field.

The strong Indian running attack and a swarming defense were too much for the Yellow Jackets, who came into the game with a record of 3-2.
