Brenda Mae (Boward) Kern, age 84 of Slatington, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
Brenda was the daughter of the late Edgar and Cora (Queen) Boward.
She graduated Slatington High School in 1957.
A few years after marrying the late W. Wallace Kern, Jr., they moved to Annapolis, Md., where she raised her four children.
In 2018 Brenda moved to Hagerstown, Md., where ironically, her own father had been born and raised as a child.
Brenda is survived by her children: Gregory W. Wallace Kern, Michele Marie Netherton and husband Brad, Kathleen Virginia Griffin and husband Darryl and the late Brian Wallace Kern; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sisters: Elaine (Boward) McFarland, Thelma (Boward) Benner and brothers: Arlan, Wilmer and Orrison Boward.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned.
The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled.
